Get ready to rock! Join us at The Wharf for a Thursday night out with Thunderbird live!
Thunderbird was formed in 2013 by guitarist/singer Dave Raczynski with one goal in mind: to pursue the classic blues-rock power trio format and incorporate music from as wide of a variety of blues artists as possible. Nearly everything is included: standards from the early Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Bobby Blue Bland eras, from Muddy Waters & Johnny Lee Hooker through the “Three Kings” world of Albert King, BB King, and Freddie King, to more recent contemporary artists like Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Duane Allman, Stevie Ray Vaughn, and Rev. Billy F. Gibbons of ZZTOP. The band has been a regular act at many local venues around the Golden Isles since its inception in 2013, as well as frequent performers at events such as: First Friday of Bwk.,(Tipsy McSway’s, with the legendary Anne Allman), popular local charity fundraisers (like Second Sunday), to reginal festivals such as the Swamptown Getdown Music Festival in Waycross, Ga. Despite personnel changes, Raczynski has reformed the band and has returned it to its original vision. Bassist Bill Spinks anchors the bottom-end with the steady precision of the fine, seasoned blues-rock veteran that he is. Drums are handled by long time friend and drum-guru-extraordinaire Scott Bachman.
